An Adult Interfaith Journey Opportunity - All God's Children
3/8/24

Our journey will consist of a visit to a Mosque, The Muslim Unity Center in Bloomfield Twp., and a synagogue, Temple Beth El, in Bloomfield Hills.

The goal of this journey is to learn and experience how the Muslim, Jewish, and Christian faiths are similar, and what makes them unique. The hope is that through stretching our minds and hearts through knowledge and relationships we can strengthen God's Kingdom, and grow our faith through love, and mutual respect for all God's children.

To strengthen the learning opportunities on the journey it is highly suggested that participants read the book "Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others" by Barbara Brown Tyler, either before or during the two weeks of our visits.

Participants can sign up for only one visit or both visits. Carpooling from the CUMC parking lot to the events will be available upon request or participants can meet at the visit location.

An opportunity to have lunch together and discuss our experience will be offered on May 11 date after our visit for those who wish to attend. A reflection time for our March 8th visit will be determined by participants closer to that date.
