Serving Others

Discover how you can make a difference in our community and beyond

Living Our Faith Through Service

At Clarkston United Methodist Church, we believe that when we serve others, God transforms our hearts and our faith grows. Jesus teaches us to care for the needs of others, and we seek to model Christ's humility as we learn, serve, and share what we have with our community and beyond.

Recurring Mission Programs

Throughout the year, we offer many ways to serve our community through these established programs.

NOAH Lunches

Four times a year, our congregation comes together to prepare and pack nutritious lunches for those experiencing food insecurity. These meals are delivered to NOAH at Central Project, extending Christ's love through practical service to our neighbors in need.

Spring Break Lunches

When school cafeterias close for spring break, many children lose access to reliable meals. Our Spring Break Lunch program bridges this gap by providing packed lunches for children in the Clarkston area throughout the week, ensuring no child goes hungry during their time away from school.

Back to School Backpacks

Each summer, we collect school supplies and fill backpacks for children in the Clarkston area who might otherwise start the school year without essential tools for learning. This program equips students for academic success while easing the financial burden on families.

Plarn Looms

Our creative volunteers transform plastic grocery bags into durable, weather-resistant sleeping mats for those experiencing homelessness in Pontiac. This eco-friendly initiative repurposes waste materials into dignified and practical bedding for our vulnerable neighbors.

Sleeping Bags for the Homeless

During Michigan's harsh winters, we distribute sleeping bags and warm clothing to individuals experiencing homelessness in Flint. This vital outreach provides both physical warmth and a reminder that our community cares, regardless of circumstance.
